Novel tripodal-pillar[5]arene-based chemical sensor for efficient detection and removal paraquat by synergistic effect

Yun-Fei Zhang et al.

Summary: Paraquat (PQ) is an important pesticide in the field, but its high toxicity poses a threat to human health. A novel sensor molecule, TP5, has been designed to have better detection and removal efficiency for PQ through a synergistic effect. The TP5 showed sensitivity fluorescence response for PQ with a detection limit of 2.23 x 10(-7) M, and a test paper based on TP5 could detect PQ in water with an adsorption efficiency of up to 98.40%.
