Standards and Best Practices for Monitoring and Benchmarking Insects

Graham A. Montgomery et al.

Summary: Benchmark studies of insect populations are increasingly important in the Anthropocene due to accelerating concern about insect trends. Lack of standardization in insect monitoring methods calls for coordinated focus on standards and best practices. Simple guidelines and seven primary insect sampling methods are provided to address this issue.
