Pharmaceuticals removal by immobilized laccase on polyvinylidene fluoride nanocomposite with multi-walled carbon nanotubes

Summary: In this study, immobilized laccase was used for the removal of pharmaceutical micropollutants in water and wastewater, with remarkable activity and activity recovery on PVDF/MWCNT membranes. The immobilized laccase showed improved operational and thermal stability compared to free laccase. The findings suggest that immobilized laccase is a promising catalyst for large-scale water and wastewater treatment, achieving high removal efficiencies in a mini-membrane reactor.

3D, eco-friendly metal-organic frameworks@carbon nanotube aerogels composite materials for removal of pesticides in water

Summary: A novel method of loading two MOFs onto carbon nanotube aerogels was developed, showing synergistic effects between MOFs and MPCA in enhancing adsorption capacity for herbicides. The prepared MOF@MPCA demonstrated strong adsorption capability, with UiO66-NH2@MPCA showing an equilibrium adsorption capacity of 227.3 mg/g and reusability for 5 cycles. Additionally, biosafety experiments indicated that MPCA can reduce the risks of MOFs nanoparticles leakage and accumulation in organisms.

Ozone treatment pak choi for the removal of malathion and carbosulfan pesticide residues

Summary: This study investigated the removal of residual pesticides from pak choi using ozonated water, finding high degradation rates of pesticides and a significant reduction in microbial colonies with slight decrease in vitamin C content. The pesticide degradation mechanism followed a first + first-order kinetic model, showing ozone had a more prominent effect on malathion degradation, providing a theoretical basis for controlling agricultural pesticide residues in household applications.
