Effective adsorption of dyes on an activated carbon prepared from carboxymethyl cellulose: Experiments, characterization and advanced modelling

Huifeng Wang et al.

Summary: An activated carbon with high surface area and outstanding adsorption properties was prepared for dye removal from water, obtained from the chemical activation and pyrolysis of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. Different characterization techniques and experimental adsorption isotherms at different temperatures were utilized to interpret the dye adsorption mechanism. Overall, the new adsorbent showed competitive performance for dye removal in aqueous solution.

Integrated fast-mass transfer and high Ti-sites utilization into hybrid amphiphilic TS@PMO catalyst towards efficient solvent-free methyl oleate epoxidation

Yue Wei et al.

Summary: The study presents a novel TS@PMO hybrid core-shell catalyst to address the issues of poor mass transfer and insufficient utilization of active centers in solvent-free catalytic oxidations. The catalyst achieves enriched active Ti sites and enhanced interphase mass transfer, leading to improved catalytic activity and selectivity in the epoxidation reaction.

Tailorable regulation of mass transfer channel in environmentally friendly calcium alginate membrane for dye removal

Keita Kashima et al.

Summary: Environmentally friendly polymer membranes for dye contamination removal were prepared from edible calcium alginate. The addition of oligoethylene glycol (OEG) or polyethylene glycol (PEG) to the casting polymer solution and subsequent removal of the OEG or PEG from the membranes through a washing process improved water permeability and tailored the mass transfer channels, resulting in membranes suitable for various membrane separation processes. These modified membranes exhibited increased water permeability and maintained molecular separation performance, making them suitable for applications in nanofiltration and ultrafiltration processes for wastewater treatment.

Jordana Georgin et al.

Summary: After acid treatment, the surface of the Physalis peruviana chalice changed from smooth to irregular, favoring adsorption of 2,4-D at pH = 2 and a dosage of 0.8 g L-1. Thermodynamic values indicate that the 2,4-D adsorption is spontaneous and exothermic.
