In this case study, a PXE patient exhibited recurrent non-aneurysmal SAH and superficial siderosis, with the only potential source of hemorrhage identified as a developmental venous anomaly.
Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is an inherited connective tissue disorder characterized by distinct skin lesions, retinal abnormalities, and increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a rare complication. We describe a PXE patient with recurrent non-aneurysmal SAH and superficial siderosis. The only potential source of hemorrhage identified was a developmental venous anomaly.
