Summary: The boronic acid-rich polymer can efficiently deliver SOD into retinal cells, reducing oxidative stress and protecting retinal function with high bioactivity and low cytotoxicity. In a retinal ischemia injury model, the SOD nanoformulation demonstrated superior therapeutic efficacy by reducing RGC apoptosis and preserving retinal function.
