Tyrosine kinase inhibitors in chronic myeloid leukaemia and emergent cardiovascular disease

Darryl Leong et al.

Summary: The study found that before and after 2001, patients with CML had a higher incidence of MACE compared to those without CML, but after adjusting for cardiovascular risk factors, the risk of MACE decreased for patients with CML before 2001. However, after 2001, the risk of cardiovascular death in CML patients was similar to age-matched and sex-matched individuals without CML, with a higher risk of cerebrovascular and peripheral arterial events. There was no difference in the risk of MACE between different CML tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
