The sulphated tin oxide-fly ash peony flower like nano catalyst was utilized for the synthesis of Epyrenyl enones through microwave irradiation Aldol condensation, resulting in approximately 80% yields under solvent-free conditions. The catalytic properties and reusability of SO42--SnO2-fly ash peony flower were investigated, while the synthesized E-pyrenyl enones were characterized by their physical properties and spectroscopic data. Additionally, the impact of solvents on the yield was also studied.
Sulphated tin oxide-fly ash peony flower like nano catalyst was employed for the synthesis of some Epyrenyl enones by microwave irradiated Aldol condensation of various substituted acetophenones and 1-pyrenaldehyde under solvent-free conditions. About 80% yields were obtained in this protocol. Catalytic character of SO42--SnO2-fly ash peony flower was investigated using obtained yield and reusability. These E-pyrenyl enones were characterized by their melting points, CHN analysis and spectroscopic data. Also, the influence of the solvents on the yield was investigated. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
