Grating-Graphene Metamaterial as a Platform for Terahertz Nonlinear Photonics

Summary: Nonlinear optics plays a crucial role in optical and optoelectronic technologies. The integration of graphene with a photonic grating structure has led to a significant enhancement in the third-harmonic generation in the terahertz regime. This enhancement opens up new possibilities for chip-integrated, room-temperature, and commercially viable THz nonlinear conversion applications.

Long-lived charge separation following pump-wavelength-dependent ultrafast charge transfer in graphene/WS2 heterostructures

Summary: Through studying the photoconductivity and transient absorption dynamics in graphene-WS2 heterostructures, it was found that separated charges in the heterostructure following charge transfer have an extremely long lifetime, which is crucial for optimizing the performance of optoelectronic devices. Additionally, the charge transfer process across graphene-WS2 interfaces was identified to occur via different mechanisms for sub-A-exciton and above-A-exciton excitations, providing insights for further device optimization, particularly in photodetection applications.
