A rapid paper-based blood typing method from droplet wicking

Summary: Paper-based diagnostics are becoming more popular in low-cost, point of care analytical techniques, but large scale testing facilities still rely on traditional methods like gel column agglutination. The novel paper-based blood typing method presented here is rapid, scalable, and able to deliver test results in under ten seconds, making it potentially the fastest blood typing test suitable for large scale automation. This method has the potential to significantly reduce the time and cost of blood typing tests, and could lead to the development of a new high throughput and fully automatable system.
