Fast Li-Ion Conductivity in Superadamantanoid Lithium Thioborate Halides

Kavish Kaup et al.

Summary: Lithium thioborate halides are a new class of fast lithium-ion conducting materials with a superadamantanoid structure, exhibiting high ionic conductivities up to 1.4 mS cm(-1) that can be effectively tuned by the polarizability of the halide anion within the channels.

Crystal Structure and Properties of Layered Pnictides BaCuSi2Pn3 (Pn = P, As)

Philip Yox et al.

Summary: Two novel layered compounds BaCuSi(2)Pn(3) (Pn = P, As) with unique Cu-Si-Pn layers have been reported, featuring structural motifs also found in other pnictide materials. Experimental measurements of BaCuSi2As3 show unexpected metal-like behavior above 15 K and ultra-low thermal conductivity. The combination of layered crystal structure with alternating covalent and ionic bonding contributes to the rattling of Cu atoms and explains the observed properties.

Supertetrahedral polyanionic network in the first lithium phosphidoindate Li3InP2 - structural similarity to Li2SiP2 and Li2GeP2 and dissimilarity to Li3AlP2 and Li3GaP2

Tassilo M. F. Restle et al.

Summary: Phosphide-based materials, especially the newly reported lithium phosphidoindate Li3InP2, exhibit unique structural features and stability compared to previously reported homologues Li3AlP2 and Li3GaP2. DFT calculations support the stability of Li3InP2, while a detailed geometrical analysis provides insights into the structural factors governing lithium ion mobility in phosphide-based materials.
