MXene/Polymer Nanocomposites: Preparation, Properties, and Applications

Xiaoyong Chen et al.

Summary: MXene, as a promising 2D material, exhibits metallic conductivity, high charge carrier mobility, tunable band gap, flexibility, and diverse surface chemistry, attracting significant attention. The development of MXene/polymer nanocomposites has led to remarkable improvements in electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties, with diverse applications in various fields. However, there is a need for more comprehensive overviews and discussions on the status and challenges in this field.

Structural effects of amine polymers on stability and energy efficiency of adsorbents in post-combustion CO2 capture

Woosung Choi et al.

Summary: This study rigorously investigated the effects of different amine polymer structures on CO2 adsorbents, finding that linear tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) had high CO2 capacity but slow kinetics and fast degradation, while epoxide-functionalized branched PEI had moderate CO2 adsorption strength resulting in energy-efficient CO2 capture with fast kinetics and high stability.

Summary: A new three-dimensional elastic scaffold with high thermal conductivity was prepared and modified to form HG-HCNTs-PEI nanocomposite as a superior CO2 adsorbent with high amine loading and adsorption capacity. The nanocomposites showed excellent cyclic stability even at high desorption temperature, making the CO2 capture process practical and promising.
