In this study, we recalculated the analytical uncertainty in the determination of Ethyl Carbamate concentration in cachaca using sound metrological and statistical concepts. Four Excel spread sheets were created to show calculations of the measurand combined uncertainty from different measurement functions, along with a fifth sheet presenting the bivariate calibration curve regression. These materials are beneficial for undergraduate students to learn uncertainty estimation.
In this work we recalculate, based on sound metrological and statistical concepts, the analytical uncertainty in the determination of Ethyl Carbamate concentration in cachaca by isotopic dilution gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-IDMS) presented in the article published in Quimica Nova 2010, 33, 1578. Four Excel spread sheets were elaborated presenting the calculations of the measurand combined uncertainty from four different, but equivalent, measurement functions, leading to the same value, and a fifth presenting the bivariate calibration curve regression, all available as supplementary materials. These materials are especially useful to uncertainty estimation learning for undergraduate students of different courses.
