The anisotropic behavior of the A(1g) vibrational mode of MoS2 at the edges is analyzed using polarized Raman spectroscopy, with emphasis on the direction-dependent intensity to characterize the angle between edges and determine their chirality.
Anisotropic behaviour of the A(1g) vibrational mode of MoS2 at the edges has been reported. Polarized Raman spectroscopy is used to identify edges, and decipher angles between them have been discussed. The aberrant appearance of the A(1g) mode at the edges has been attributed to breaking of back-scattering geometry. The direction-dependent intensity of the A(1g) mode is used to characterize the angle between edges, thus finding the chirality of the edges.
