A new approach was developed for the asymmetric synthesis of beta-phosphorus-containing alpha-amino acids by utilizing chiral Ni(ii) complexes to catalyze the Michael addition of dehydroalanine-Schiff base with phosphine oxides and dialkyl phosphites.
A new approach for the asymmetric synthesis of the two enantiomers of beta-phosphorus-containing alpha-amino acids was developed via Michael addition of secondary phosphine oxides and dialkyl phosphites to chiral Ni(ii)-complexes of a dehydroalanine-Schiff base.
