Improved compressible hybrid lattice Boltzmann method on standard lattice for subsonic and supersonic flows

Florian Renard et al.

Summary: A new D2Q9 Hybrid Lattice Boltzmann Method (HLBM) was proposed for simulating compressible subsonic and supersonic flows, which has been proven to be efficient, accurate, and robust in various test cases. This hybrid method combines LBM algorithm to solve mass and momentum equations, and finite volume method to solve entropy-based energy equation with ideal gas equation of state, valid from subsonic to supersonic regimes.

Multiple-relaxation-time discrete Boltzmann modeling of multicomponent mixture with nonequilibrium effects

Chuandong Lin et al.

Summary: A multiple-relaxation-time discrete Boltzmann model is proposed for multicomponent mixtures to account for compressible, hydrodynamic, and thermodynamic nonequilibrium effects. The model provides more kinetic information and enables the study of entropy production mechanisms in complex flows, particularly in multicomponent mixtures. It shows that heat conduction and temperature have slight influences on the formation and evolution of the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability morphological structure.
