Experimental and surface morphological studies of corrosion inhibition on carbon steel in HCl solution using some new hydrazide derivatives

Summary: Three newly synthesized hydrazide derivatives showed high inhibition efficiencies on the corrosion of C-steel in 1 M HCl, forming a protective layer on the surface. The adsorption of these compounds followed the Temkin adsorption isotherm and they belonged to mixed-type inhibitors according to polarization curves. Molecular simulation methods further confirmed the inhibitory effect of hydrazide derivatives at the molecular level.
