Almost 100 % Peroxymonosulfate Conversion to Singlet Oxygen on Single-Atom CoN2+2 Sites

Xueyue Mi et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a strategy to regulate the generation of reactive oxygen species by atomically dispersed cobalt anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon, with singlet oxygen being the predominant reactive oxygen species. The generated singlet oxygen is capable of degrading various organic pollutants efficiently across a broad pH range, providing new theoretical support for the singlet oxygen generation mechanism in peroxymonosulfate activation.

Activation of peroxodisulfate and peroxymonosulfate by ultrasound with different frequencies: Impact on ibuprofen removal efficient, cost estimation and energy analysis

Yonghyeon Lee et al.

Summary: This study investigated the degradation efficiency of ibuprofen using different advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) with peroxodisulfate (PDS), peroxymonosulfate (PMS), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) at various ultrasonic frequencies. Results showed that PDS and PMS had the highest activation efficiency at a frequency of 1000 kHz, with PDS being more effective than PMS. Additionally, an increase in pH during IBP decomposition resulted in a decrease in the IBP reaction rate constant.

Metal single-atom catalysts for selective hydrogenation of unsaturated bonds

Zhiyi Sun et al.

Summary: Selective hydrogenation is widely used in various fields, and single atom catalysts show excellent catalytic performance by reducing the particle size to the single atom level. Research progress indicates that synthesis methods, composition content, monatomic coordination, and the charge relationship between metal and carrier all affect the catalytic performance of single atom catalysts.

A defect-driven atomically dispersed Fe-N-C electrocatalyst for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalytic activity in Zn-air batteries

Jie Zhang et al.

Summary: This study introduces a strategy for synthesizing N-doped defective carbon and trapping the FePc precursor to enhance electrocatalytic activity. The optimized Fe-N-NDC-1-900 demonstrates robust anchoring ability for atomic Fe species with abundant Fe-N-4 sites, showing excellent performance in both ORR and OER. Additionally, the bifunctional Fe-N-NDC-1-900 exhibits promising application in Zn-air batteries with high open-circuit voltage, power density, and specific capacity.
