Achieving the potential multifunctional near-infrared materials Ca3In2-xGaxGe3O12:Cr3+ using a solid state method

Summary: This study reported novel near-infrared phosphors Ca3In2Ge3O12:xCr(3+) and Ca3In2-xGaxGe3O12:0.07Cr(3+), demonstrating the cation regulation engineering and crystallographic site substitution for tuning luminescence properties and enhancing thermal stability. The introduction of Ga3+ for In3+ substitution improved the application performance, while the luminescence and concentration quenching mechanisms were studied. The near-infrared emitting Ca3In0.2Ga1.8Ge3O12:0.07Cr(3+) phosphor obtained showed potential for applications in plant illumination, human body detection, and silicon-based solar cells.

Hierarchically porous Co/C nanocomposites for ultralight high-performance microwave absorption

Summary: This study prepared Co/C nanocomposites with Co nanoparticles uniformly distributed in amorphous carbon sheets, achieving excellent absorption performance through hierarchical porous microstructures. Excellent absorption performance was achieved at 10% and 15% Co/C content levels, providing a new pathway for designing ultralight absorbers.
