Effect of Pebble Size Distribution and Wall Effect on Inner Packing Structure and Contact Force Distribution in Tritium Breeder Pebble Bed

Baoping Gong et al.

Summary: The pebble size distribution significantly influences the inner packing structure of the pebble bed in a tritium breeder blanket, while the fixed wall effect can lead to an obvious wall effect. The gravity effect and pebble size distribution also have a notable impact on the contact force distribution inside the poly-disperse pebble bed.

Manganese bridge of mercury and oxygen for elemental mercury capture from industrial flue gas in layered Mn/MCM-22 zeolite

Yongpeng Ma et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared modified layered MCM-22 zeolite with highly dispersed Mn active sites for efficient removal of gaseous elemental mercury (Hg-0). The mechanism of Hg-0 removal mainly involves catalytic oxidation and chemisorption on Mn active sites, with Mn playing a bridging role between Hg and O in the pores of Mn/MCM-22 zeolite. The promising Mn/MCM-22 zeolite composite demonstrates high potential as a sorbent for Hg-0 removal from flue gas.

Shell-thickness-induced spontaneous inward migration of mercury in porous ZnO@CuS for gaseous mercury immobilization

Qinyuan Hong et al.

Summary: This study investigates the mercury adsorption performance and bonding stability of porous ZnO@CuS with different shell thicknesses. The porous shell structure allows for inward migration of Hg-0, improving adsorption performance and bonding stability. The optimal ZnO@CuS shows enhanced resistance against O-2, SO2, and H2O, making it promising for mercury adsorption on sulfides.

Elemental mercury capture from industrial gas emissions using sulfides and selenides: a review

Dongjing Liu et al.

Summary: Chalcogen-based adsorbents, particularly sulfur-modified ones, have shown efficient removal of Hg-0 from gas streams. However, the presence of acidic flue gas components and steam may reduce the removal efficiency. Mineral sulfides and metal selenides exhibit outstanding Hg-0 removal performances, but their application may be limited by temperature constraints.
