Photocatalytic Cr(VI) elimination over BUC-21/N-K2Ti4O9 composites: Big differences in performance resulting from small differences in composition

Xun Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, BUC-21/N-K2Ti4O9 composites were synthesized via ball-milling and showed excellent photocatalytic performance in reducing Cr(VI) under both UV and white light irradiation. The introduction of N-K2Ti4O9 broadened the light absorption range of BUC-21 and inhibited electron-hole recombination, leading to enhanced photocatalytic activity. Mechanisms of photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction were proposed and confirmed through various experiments.
