Improving helium abundance determinations with Leo P as a case study

Erik Aver et al.

Summary: The study improves methodologies to reduce systematic uncertainties in determining the primordial helium abundance in galaxies. By combining observations and data analysis, the uncertainty in the helium abundance of Leo P galaxy is significantly decreased, resulting in an estimated primordial helium mass fraction of Y_p = 0.2453 +/- 0.0034.

Bounds on warm dark matter from Schwarzschild primordial black holes

Jeremy Auffinger et al.

Summary: Light dark matter candidates from evaporating Schwarzschild primordial black holes with negligible couplings to other particles are considered, belonging to warm dark matter but potentially spoiling structure formation, ruling out black hole domination for all spin values up to 2, and deriving less stringent upper limits on the parameter beta for radiation domination with higher candidate spin values.

Gravitational waves from a universe filled with primordial black holes

Theodoros Papanikolaou et al.

Summary: Ultra-light primordial black holes, with masses less than 10(9)g, can dominate the universe for a transient period and induce cosmological fluctuations and gravitational waves. To avoid backreaction problems with induced gravitational waves, there are constraints on the relative abundance of black holes at formation.

Gravitational wave constraints on the primordial black hole dominated early universe

Guillem Domenech et al.

Summary: We calculate the gravitational waves induced by density fluctuations from the distribution of primordial black holes, finding that most of the waves are generated after the black holes evaporate. The strongest constraint on the produced gravitational waves comes from big bang nucleosynthesis, and some of the waves could potentially be detected by LIGO and DECIGO in the future.

Impacts of Hawking radiation from primordial black holes in critical collapse model on the light element abundances

Yudong Luo et al.

Summary: The study explores the photodisintegration process triggered by nonthermal electromagnetic Hawking radiation from primordial black holes in a critical collapse model. It is found that constraints on He-3 abundance in the critical mass function are about one order of magnitude severer than the monochromatic one, despite the relatively small fraction of PBHs in the low-mass tail region. The results also show discrepancies between the updated 3He constraints and previous results, highlighting the need for more precise measurements in the future.

Mergers of primordial black holes in extreme clusters and the H0 tension

Summary: The study suggests the existence of dark matter in the form of primordial black holes in dense clusters, with collisions of these black holes transforming into gravitational waves. This has implications for resolving certain cosmological problems.
