Mechanisms behind photocatalytic CO2 reduction by CsPbBr3 perovskite-graphene-based nanoheterostructures

Yu-Hung Chen et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the growth of CsPbBr3 nanoparticles on semiconducting graphene oxide and conductive few-layer graphene surfaces, showing different interfacial charge transfer behaviors. The rate constant of charge transfer can be modulated by controlling the composition ratio of graphene oxide and few-layer graphene. The relationship between CO2 to CH4 conversion rate and charge transfer rate differs between the graphene oxide-based and few-layer graphene-based nanoheterostructures. This work provides important insights for the design of perovskite-graphene based nanoheterostructures with remarkable performance for solar-driven CO2 conversion.

TiB2 thin film enabled efficient NH3 electrosynthesis at ambient conditions

Shaoxiong Li et al.

Summary: The study introduces the use of sputtered TiB2 film for efficient artificial N2 reduction electrocatalysis, achieving high NH3 yield and Faradaic efficiency in HCl solution with excellent durability. This is attributed to the positively charged Ti atomic plane, as evidenced by density functional theory calculations, which facilitates N2 molecules adsorption, activation, and hydrogenation while suppressing the binding of H atoms.

Influence of lattice oxygen on the catalytic activity of blue titania supported Pt catalyst for CO oxidation

Hanseul Choi et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the catalyst with Pt deposited on blue TiO2 exhibits 8.8 times higher catalytic activity than that on TiO2 for CO oxidation. The formation of oxygen vacancies on blue TiO2 promotes electron generation, leading to weakened CO binding strength. The facile reducibility of surface lattice oxygen on blue TiO2 is identified as the reason behind its high CO oxidation activity.
