Solvent induced enhancement of nonlinear optical response of graphdiyne

Yuze Dong et al.

Summary: The study experimentally probed the third-order nonlinear optical response of graphdiyne (GD) dispersed in different alcohols using a femtosecond Z-scan technique. Results showed that the strongest NLO response was observed when GD was dispersed in 1-propanol, indicating that solvent properties such as polarity and viscosity could influence GD materials' NLO response.

Giant nonlinear optical activity in two-dimensional palladium diselenide

Juan Yu et al.

Summary: Nonlinear optical effects in layered two-dimensional transition metal chalcogenides have been extensively studied, with palladium diselenide (PdSe2) showing unique thickness-dependent second harmonic generation feature. The two-photon absorption coefficients and modulation depths of 1-3 layer PdSe2 are significantly larger than conventional two-dimensional materials, making PdSe2 a potential candidate for technological innovations in nonlinear optoelectronic devices.

Wenxin Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a watt-level Tm:YAP pulsed laser at 1936.6 nm was achieved using graphdiyne (GDY) as a passive modulator. Efficient diode pumping led to a pulsed laser output of 1.37 W with a absorbed pump power of 4.44 W, demonstrating the potential of GDY as a modulator for generating pulsed lasers in the 2 μm band range.

Qingyan Pan et al.

Summary: GTTY is a novel graphyne allotrope synthesized via bottom-up approach, exhibiting excellent semiconductor properties with a band gap of 1.3 eV and a high conductivity of 0.285 S m(-1) at room temperature. The structural analysis reveals a ninefold stacking structure with nanosheet morphology. Hole and electron mobilities in GTTY films reach up to 1.47 x 10(3) cm(2) V-1 S-1 and 2.98 x 10(3) cm(2) V-1 S-1, respectively, as measured by the space-charge-limited current (SCLC) method.
