Printable two-dimensional superconducting monolayers

Summary: A mild electrochemical exfoliation method has been developed to synthesize large-size, high crystallinity two-dimensional superconductor monolayers, enabling the fabrication of twisted van der Waals heterostructures and printed films. This method yields 2DSC monolayers with unconventional Ising pair superconductivity and enhanced upper critical field, with NbSe2 achieving a high yield of large single-crystal monolayers up to 300 μm. The resulting twisted NbSe2 vdWHs exhibit high stability, good interfacial properties, and modulation of critical current by magnetic field interaction.

Novel green phosphorene as a superior chemical gas sensing material

Summary: Green phosphorus and its monolayer variant, GreenP, are new members of 2D phosphorus polymorphs with high stability, tunable bandgap, excellent electronic transport, and anisotropic properties. Gas-sensing characteristics show stronger adsorption of NO, NO2, CO, and CO2 on GreenP, while NH3 and H2O are weakly physisorbed. Sulfur doping can enhance NO2 adsorption, leading to increased sensitivity in sensing devices.

Summary: In this study, short-chain conductive aromatic molecules were used to modify CsPbBr3 quantum dots and act as charge mediators for photocatalytic CO2 reduction, demonstrating higher potential than long-chain alkane or siloxane compounds. The electron consumption rate of the composite photocatalyst with aromatic mediators was significantly higher compared to alkane and siloxane ligands.

Metal-free tellurene cocatalyst with tunable bandgap for enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production

Summary: The use of metal-free tellurene as a highly efficient cocatalyst has led to enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate and high quantum efficiency under light illumination. Experimental and theoretical studies have shown that tellurene has a largely tunable bandgap, reduced thickness, abundant active sites, high charge mobility, and strong electronic coupling effects with metal sulfides, which contribute to the improved photocatalytic performance.

Additionally, the outlook for future research directions, challenges, and possible development of 2D materials are further discussed.
