By utilizing a PVF/PVDF-coated PET substrate and a two-step swelling method, a uniform CH3NH3PbX3 nano-crystalline film was successfully grown, enhancing the stability of lead halide perovskites.
Instability of lead halide perovskites due to water, oxygen, heat and high pH value is a critical bottleneck that hinders their practical applications. Herein, a fluorine (polyvinyl fluoride/polyvinylidene fluoride, PVF/PVDF)-coated PET substrate was explored to grow a CH3NH3PbX3 nano-crystalline film via a two-step swelling method. In this way, the nanocrystals are uniformly embedded in the interstices of the PVF/PVDF matrix to form a uniform perovskite film. Based on the three-dimensional network interpenetrating structure of the PVF/PVDF film, the as-synthesized CH3NH3PbX3 nanocrystal matrix is stable in high moisture, oxygen plasma treatment, and extreme acid-alkali environment, while sensitive to heat.
