This paper highlights the significance of communication time delays (CTDs) on the performance of a dual area power system with multi-type generations. A fuzzy-PID (FPID) controller is utilized to regulate system performance deviations using a fine tuning approach of differential evolution (DE) based on the integral squared error (ISE) function. The effect of CTDs on power system performance is demonstrated by comparing responses with and without consideration of CTDs in the system.
This paper spotlights the significance of communication time delays (CTDs) on performance of dual area power system having multi-type generations. Investigation is accomplished by targeting area-1 with variation in step load of 1% perturbation (SLP). Fuzzy-PID (FPID) controller is implemented to regularize the deviations in system performance by utilizing fine tuning approach of differential evolution (DE) subjugated to error squared over integral (ISE) function. However, the performance potency of FPID controller is constituted by comparing with those of PI and PID. Moreover, the effect of CTDs on power system is clearly demonstrated by comparing the responses that are retrieved with and without considering CTDs in the system.
