Extension of the Generalized Hydrodynamics to the Dimensional Crossover Regime

Frederik Moller et al.

Summary: In this study, integrability breaking in cold gas experiments is addressed by extending the integrable hydrodynamics of the Lieb-Liniger model with two additional components representing the population of atoms in excited states. The extended model accounts for collisions between different components, capturing the thermalization of the condensate at a rate consistent with experimental observations. This model is in contrast to standard generalized hydrodynamics and provides a more accurate description of the thermalization process in quasi-1D condensates.

Constructing Integrable Lindblad Superoperators

Marius de Leeuw et al.

Summary: The new method is able to construct one-dimensional integrable Lindblad systems with unique features and represent known classical integrable stochastic equations. This approach can be extended to various situations and establishes a structured method for the study of solvable open quantum systems.

Strong correlations in lossy one-dimensional quantum gases: From the quantum Zeno effect to the generalized Gibbs ensemble

Davide Rossini et al.

Summary: This study focuses on strong two-body losses in bosonic gases trapped in one-dimensional optical lattices, utilizing the separation of timescales in a many-body quantum Zeno regime to establish a connection with the theory of time-dependent generalized Gibbs ensemble. The main result is a set of rate equations capturing the simultaneous effects of coherent evolution and two-body losses, providing an accurate description of the dynamics of a gas in a Mott insulating state. The research also discusses the potential observation of these predictions in an experiment with Yb-174 in a metastable state.

Integrability breaking in the one-dimensional Bose gas: Atomic losses and energy loss

A. Hutsalyuk et al.

Summary: In this work, we investigate the integrability breaking effects due to atomic loss in the one-dimensional delta-function interacting Bose gas, setting up a framework for exact computation of losses of the canonical charges and deriving an exact result for energy loss due to local K-body processes, applicable for any K. Our results are expressed as multiple integrals, which are explicitly factorized for experimentally relevant cases of K = 1, 2, 3.
