Aptamer biorecognition-triggered hairpin switch and nicking enzyme assisted signal amplification for ultrasensitive colorimetric bioassay of kanamycin in milk

Summary: A colorimetric aptasensing strategy for detection of kanamycin was developed based on aptamer biorecognition and signal amplification with nicking enzyme, showing good selectivity and sensitivity with a detection limit as low as 0.2 pg/mL. The method can potentially be extended for the detection of other antibiotics in foods by adapting corresponding aptamer sequences.

Naked eye colorimetric detection of Escherichia coli using aptamer conjugated graphene oxide enclosed Gold nanoparticles

Summary: This study developed a detection platform utilizing the properties of gold nanoparticles and graphene oxide to detect E. coli cells through aptamer conjugation. The sensitivity of the designed nanoprobe was enhanced by covering AuNPs with graphene oxide. This platform was found to be applicable in glass capillary for making a point of care detection device.
