Tristability in Viscoelastic Flow Past Side-by-Side Microcylinders

Summary: Experimental results show that with increasing flow rate, two imperfect symmetry-breaking bifurcations force the selection of specific flow paths. Tuning the gap length to the value where the first bifurcation becomes perfect reveals regions of bistability and tristability in the dimensionless flow rate-gap length phase diagram.

Nontrivial anomalous diffusions induced by the harmonic velocity Levy noise

Summary: In this paper, we investigate the diffusion behavior of under-damped particles subjected to correlated Levy noise in both force-free and tilted periodic potentials. The negative time correlation and strong correlation collide with the long-tailed nature of the noise, resulting in a multi-diffusive process in force-free potential. Strong correlation in the tilted periodic potential disrupts the typical locked and running states of particle transport in coordinate space, leading to a transition from anomalous to normal diffusion at asymptotic timescale.
