Heterostructure AZO/WSeTe/W(S/Se)2 as an Efficient Single Junction Solar Cell with Ultrathin Janus WSeTe Buffer Layer

Rajneesh Chaurasiya et al.

Summary: Transition metal dichalcogenides exhibit promising optoelectronic properties for solar cell applications, with high absorption coefficient making them suitable absorber materials. By considering a heterostructure with bulk W(S/Se)(2) as absorber material and ultrathin Janus WSeTe layer as buffer layer, the optimal efficiencies of 18.87% and 18.1% were achieved for AZO/WSeTe/WS2 and AZO/WSeTe/WSe2 solar cells after parameter optimization.

Optoelectronics and Nanophotonics of Vapor-Liquid-Solid Grown GaSe van der Waals Nanoribbons

Peter Sutter et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the synthesis, structure, morphology, and optoelectronics/photonics properties of GaSe van der Waals nanoribbons obtained by Au- and Ag-catalyzed VLS growth. The GaSe ribbons grown at lower temperatures exhibit remarkably uniform morphology and low edge roughness. Photoluminescence spectroscopy shows intense, narrow light emission at the GaSe bandgap energy.
