From soft to hard radiation: the role of multiple scatterings in medium-induced gluon emissions

Carlota Andres et al.

Summary: A proper understanding of the physics of medium-induced gluon emissions is crucial for describing the properties of strongly interacting matter under extreme conditions. Analytical calculations and numerical evaluations have been used to compare different energy regimes, revealing three distinct regimes with their own physical pictures and dominant dynamics.

Jet quenching test of the QCD matter created at RHIC and the LHC needs opacity-resummed medium induced radiation

Xabier Feal et al.

Summary: Jet quenching has become a fundamental tool to study the QCD matter produced in high-energy nuclear collisions after almost two decades of investigation. Despite progress in experimental and theoretical tools, unknowns remain regarding the systematics of QCD matter parameters extracted at different energies and centralities. Recent focus has been on the correct resummation of multiple scatterings experienced by particles of the jet in QCD matter.

Medium induced QCD cascades: broadening and rescattering during branching

E. Blanco et al.

Summary: In this study, evolution equations for jet propagation through quark-gluon plasma were examined, with a particular focus on the momentum transfer contribution during branching. Various approximations, such as the Gaussian approximation and the diffusive approximation, were explored in order to reproduce the BDIM equation. It was found that the diffusive approximation requires a large value of the jet-quenching parameter to accurately model the system.

Medium-induced fragmentation and equilibration of highly energetic partons

Soeren Schlichting et al.

Summary: This study investigates the energy loss and equilibration of highly energetic particles/jets inside a QCD medium. It shows that the dominant mechanism for energy loss in the medium is an inverse turbulent cascade due to successive radiative branchings, impacting the energy spectra and chemistry of jet fragments.
