In-situ self-assembly construction of hollow tubular g-C3N4 isotype heterojunction for enhanced visible-light photocatalysis: Experiments and theories

Qinghua Liang et al.

Summary: S doping in a highly reactive hollow tubular g-C3N4 isotype heterojunction (SCN-CN) enhances visible light absorption and directs the transfer of electrons and holes. The tubular structure of SCN-CN facilitates electron transfer in the longitudinal direction, reducing charge carrier recombination. Experimental and theoretical studies were conducted to analyze the optical properties, electronic structure, and electron transfer of SCN-CN.

Nitrogen doped g-C3N4 with the extremely narrow band gap for excellent photocatalytic activities under visible light

Dandan Zhu et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-doped g-C3N4 (NCN) with an extremely narrow band gap was prepared and applied to enhance the photocatalytic activity for phenol degradation. Experimental and theoretical results showed that nitrogen doping improved photogenerated carrier separation and charge transfer, leading to increased visible light absorption and enhanced photocatalytic performance. The introduction of foreign atoms in the matrix can be a strategy to enhance the photocatalytic activity of photocatalysts.

Efficient removal of bisphenol A with activation of peroxydisulfate via electrochemically assisted Fe(III)-nitrilotriacetic acid system under neutral condition

Liangliang Xiong et al.

Summary: An innovative electrochemically assisted Fe(III)-NTA/PDS system was proposed for the removal of BPA at neutral pH with efficient decay mainly originating from the continuous activation of PDS by Fe(II) reduced from Fe(III)-NTA complexes. BPA removal occurred mainly through graphite adsorption, direct electron transfer (DET) and radical oxidation, with sulfate and hydroxyl radicals primarily responsible for the oxidation of BPA.

Fine-Tuning Radical/Nonradical Pathways on Graphene by Porous Engineering and Doping Strategies

Xintong Li et al.

Summary: Nitrogen and sulfur co-doped graphene was activated using ZnCl2, KOH, and CO2 to enhance catalytic activity for phenol degradation. KOH activation further promoted the generation of radical species, achieving deeper mineralization of organic pollutants. Radical oxidation in bulk solution protected the carbo-catalyst from corrosion, ensuring better stability for practical applications.
