Molecular prevalence of Coxiella burnetii in bulk-tank milk from bovine dairy herds: Systematic review and meta-analysis

Ana Rabaza et al.

Summary: This study investigated the global herd-level prevalence of C. burnetii in bovine bulk-tank milk samples using PCR-based analysis. The results showed a high molecular prevalence of C. burnetii in both European and non-European countries, indicating widespread circulation of this agent in bovine dairy farms worldwide. Meta-regression analysis identified herd size as the most relevant moderator influencing the likelihood of a BTM sample testing positive for C. burnetii.
