A Universal Strategy for the Preparation of Dual Superlyophobic Surfaces in Oil-Water Systems

Mingming Wu et al.

Summary: A universal strategy was proposed to prepare dual superlyophobic surfaces in oil-water systems by delicately controlling surface chemistry, achieving the transformation from UWSOB to UOSHB. The mass ratios of superhydrophobic counterparts in the resulting mixed coatings were determined to be 0.3, 0.4, and 0.2 for APT, TiO2, and loess, respectively. The prepared superlyophobic separation mesh showed significant application potential in oil-water separation and other interfacial chemistry applications.

Trash to treasure: From construction waste to tellurium adsorbent materials

Hao Chen et al.

Summary: This study presents a promising method for fabricating high-effective adsorption material using construction waste as raw materials, suitable for coarse tellurium extraction from photovoltaic waste. The hierarchical structures of the LDHABM, along with their porous nature and high specific surface, contribute to excellent tellurium adsorption ability. The controlled process provides an effective and environmentally sustainable way to utilize construction waste for potential tellurium extraction applications.
