Pressure-Engineered Photoluminescence Tuning in Zero-Dimensional Lead Bromide Trimer Clusters

Qian Li et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the ability to modulate the self-trapped exciton (STE) emission of zero-dimensional hybrid metal halides using high pressure, resulting in a color-tunable emission from yellow green to cyan and eventually to broadband white-light emission. The findings provide insights into the structure-dependent optical properties of 0D hybrid metal halides and shed light on the mechanism of STE emission.

Enhanced Photocurrent of All-Inorganic Two-Dimensional Perovskite Cs2PbI2Cl2 via Pressure-Regulated Excitonic Features

Songhao Guo et al.

Summary: Pressure processing efficiently adjusts the structural and physical properties of two-dimensional halide perovskites, leading to significantly enhanced photocurrents and reduced exciton binding energy. This allows for the dissociation of excitons into free carriers, enhancing the overall photocurrent. The findings provide new insights into materials design for achieving extraordinary properties in halide perovskites.

Pressure-Triggered Blue Emission of Zero-Dimensional Organic Bismuth Bromide Perovskite

Meng-En Sun et al.

Summary: Understanding the structure-property relationships in Zero-dimensional organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites is essential for their optoelectronic applications, especially in improving emission intensity, such as blue luminescence. Pressure-induced emission has been successfully achieved in a nonluminous 0D OMHP, showing a significant increase in emission intensity, even reaching high-efficiency blue luminescence with increased external pressure. Analysis of high-pressure experiments and first-principle calculations reveal that the observed pressure-induced emission is attributed to enhanced exciton binding energy due to octahedron distortion. This study sheds light on the relationship between structure and optical properties of OMHPs, potentially enhancing applications in pressure sensing and trademark security.

Harvesting Cool Daylight in Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Halides Microtubules through the Reservation of Pressure-Induced Emission

Dianlong Zhao et al.

Summary: Pressure-induced emission (PIE) is significantly enhanced in microtubules of the 0D hybrid halide (C5H7N2)(2)ZnBr4 ((4AMP)(2)ZnBr4) through pressure treatment, with emission intensity over ten times higher than the initial state and retained under ambient conditions. Pressure processing also enables the tuning of sky blue light to cool daylight, with a remarkable quantum yield of 88.52% after decompression, showing potential applications in next-generation lighting and displays.

Regulating Exciton-Phonon Coupling to Achieve a Near-Unity Photoluminescence Quantum Yield in One-Dimensional Hybrid Metal Halides

Hui Luo et al.

Summary: Through pressure regulation, a nearly 100% photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of broadband emission is achieved in a corrugated 1D hybrid metal halide C5N2H16Pb2Br6 with a highly distorted structure, initially having a PLQY of 10%. Compression reduces the overlap between STE states and ground state, leading to a suppressed phonon-assisted non-radiative decay. The pressure-regulated exciton-phonon coupling, quantified using the Huang-Rhys factor S, systematically controls the PL evolution.
