First Measurement of Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering on Argon

D. Akimov et al.

Summary: We present the first measurement of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) on argon using a liquid argon detector at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Spallation Neutron Source. Two independent analyses support CEvNS over the background-only null hypothesis with more than 3 sigma significance. The measured cross section, averaged over the incident neutrino flux, is (2.2 +/- 0.7) x 10(-39) cm(2)-consistent with the standard model prediction, confirming the existence of the CEvNS process and providing improved constraints on nonstandard neutrino interactions.

Constraints on light vector mediators through coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering data from COHERENT

M. Cadeddu et al.

Summary: New constraints on three different models involving a yet to be observed light vector Z' mediator were presented by utilizing recent observations of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering in argon and cesium-iodide by the COHERENT Collaboration. The results obtained from a combination of data sets were compared with limits from various experiments, showing that the COHERENT data allow for stringent limits in the parameter space of the light vector mediator mass and coupling for the universal and B - L models.

2020 global reassessment of the neutrino oscillation picture

P. F. de Salas et al.

Summary: The latest global fit analysis of neutrino oscillation data provides more accurate measurements of theta(13), theta(12), Delta m212, and Delta m312 and suggests a preference for the second octant in the atmospheric angle theta(23) with statistical significance. Cosmological measurements show a clear preference for the normal neutrino mass ordering.

Averages of b-hadron, c-hadron, and τ-lepton properties as of 2018 Heavy Flavor Averaging Group (HFLAV)

Y. Amhis et al.

Summary: This paper reports world averages of measurements of b-hadron, c-hadron, and tau-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavour Averaging Group using results available through September 2018. Adjustments are made to common input parameters used in various analyses to common values, taking known correlations into account. The averages include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, CP violation parameters, parameters of semileptonic decays, and Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements.

Leading hadronic contribution to the muon magnetic moment from lattice QCD

Sz. Borsanyi et al.

Summary: The standard model of particle physics describes the majority of experiments and observations involving elementary particles, with a long-standing discrepancy concerning the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Ongoing experiments aim to reduce measurement errors, theoretically attributed to the leading-order hadronic vacuum polarization contribution, to distinguish between experimental measurements and predictions. The developed methods using ab initio quantum chromodynamics and quantum electrodynamics simulations favor experimentally measured values over those obtained using dispersion methods, with potential for increased precision as computer technology advances.

Measurement of the Positive Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment to 0.46 ppm

B. Abi et al.

Summary: The experiment presented the first results of the Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) Muon g - 2 Experiment for the positive muon magnetic anomaly a(mu) (g(mu) - 2)/2, which determined the anomaly from precision measurements of two angular frequencies. The result showed a deviation of 3.3 standard deviations from the standard model prediction, in agreement with previous measurements, increasing the tension between experiment and theory.

Muon (g-2) and XENON1T excess with boosted dark matter in Lμ - Lτ model

Debasish Borah et al.

Summary: The gauged L-μ-L-τ model, an anomaly free extension of the standard model, provides a natural explanation for muon (g - 2) and can also incorporate dark matter to explain electron recoil excess by the XENON1T collaboration. The interactions between electron and dark fermions are mediated by the same neutral gauge boson responsible for generating muon (g - 2), and hybrid thermal and non-thermal mechanisms are required for dark matter annihilation to generate the relic density. The parameter space is tightly constrained and remains sensitive to ongoing and near future experiments.

Summary: The minimal gauged U(1)(L mu-L tau) model is effective in explaining the tension between theoretical and experimental values of the muon magnetic moment, with the possibility of relaxing constraints by embedding it in a supersymmetric framework. The logarithm of the mass ratio of third to second generation (s)leptons controls non-negligible kinetic mixing in the model, significantly altering many constraints.
