The synergistic catalysis on Co nanoparticles and CoNx sites of aniline-modified ZIF derived Co@NCs for oxidative esterification of HMF

Tao Rui et al.

Summary: A method for synthesizing porous cobalt/nitrogen co-doped carbons (Co@NCs) via pyrolysis of aniline-modified ZIFs has been demonstrated. The resulting catalyst can be used for oxidative esterification under ambient conditions, with a synergistic catalytic effect between Co nanoparticles and CoNx sites playing a crucial role in the reaction.

Synthesis of N-Heterocycles via Oxidant-Free Dehydrocyclization of Alcohols Using Heterogeneous Catalysts

Kangkang Sun et al.

Summary: N-heterocycles are important building blocks for organic chemistry and the fine-chemical industry. Recent attention has been given to the use of catalytic borrowing hydrogen and acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling reactions for their synthesis. Metal-based heterogeneous catalysts have been developed to achieve these transformations with good yields and selectivity, overcoming issues with product separation and catalyst reusability.

The ammoxidation of alcohols over heterogeneous catalysts for the green synthesis of nitriles

Zhijie Qi et al.

Summary: Nitriles are important synthetic intermediates, and developing new methods for their green synthesis is significant. Among these, the ammoxidation of alcohols over heterogeneous catalysts is a sustainable process due to its economic efficiency and the use of affordable raw materials and recyclable catalysts. This review summarizes the latest progress in developing heterogeneous catalysts for transforming alcohols into nitriles and discusses their preparation, functionalization strategies, and roles in these reactions.

Low-energy catalytic methanolysis of poly(ethyleneterephthalate)

Duong Dinh Pham et al.

Summary: In this study, a low-energy catalytic route for methanolysis to convert PET resin to DMT was developed, achieving high DMT selectivity at ambient temperature by controlling the moisture level. The PET depolymerization apparently proceeded through two series of reaction steps, and the degradation of PET had a relatively low activation energy of 66.5 kJ mol(-1), which was accountable for catalytic methanolysis of PET at ambient conditions.
