Mycorrhizal fungi and Pseudomonas fluorescens application reduces root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne javanica) infestation in eggplant

Meenakshi Sharma et al.

Summary: Eggplant cultivation is hindered by pests and diseases, with root-knot nematode being a significant obstacle. Mycorrhizal fungi and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria play a crucial role in improving plant development, disease tolerance, and resistance to nematodes. In this study, eggplant plants treated with a consortium of Pf + Gg showed the best results, with higher fruit biochemical content and mycorrhization levels. Overall, the research suggests that AM fungi could offer a sustainable solution to the eggplant RKN problem.
