Gallic acid: A promising genoprotective and hepatoprotective bioactive compound against cyclophosphamide induced toxicity in mice

S. Shruthi et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the genoprotective effects of gallic acid (GA) against cyclophosphamide (CP) induced genotoxicity in Swiss albino mice. The results showed that GA significantly reduced DNA damage and micronucleus frequency caused by CP, as well as protected the hepatic tissue against reactive oxygen species (ROS) mediated damage. GA also ameliorated histological changes induced by CP in hepatic tissue, indicating its potential as a versatile antioxidant for protection against CP induced genotoxicity and hepatic damage in Swiss albino mice.
