Abnormal Rich Club Organization in Hemispheric White Matter Networks of ADHD

Dandan Li et al.

Summary: The study revealed asymmetry in rich club connectivity measures in ADHD patients, showing more feeder connections and reduced rightward asymmetry. These abnormal connections were associated with ADHD symptoms.

White matter microstructure and connectivity in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder and their unaffected siblings

Nur Dikmeer et al.

Summary: In comparison to healthy controls, OCD patients showed reduced FA and increased RD in certain key areas of the brain. OCD group also exhibited weaker connectivity in the right hemisphere compared to controls. Siblings of OCD patients had intermediate levels of white matter microstructure and connectivity, suggesting a familial predisposition for OCD.

Evaluation of trigeminal nerve tractography using two-fold-accelerated simultaneous multi-slice readout-segmented echo planar diffusion tensor imaging

Yeow Hoay Koh et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the reliability of trigeminal nerve DTI metrics using SMS with RESOLVE-DTI, finding that it enables fast and reliable evaluation of microstructural integrity of the trigeminal nerve. The combination of SMS imaging with short TR and RESOLVE-DTI showed significant linear relationships between non-SMS- and SMS-derived DTI metrics, providing potential applications in the clinical management of trigeminal neuralgia.

Disrupted rich-club network organization and individualized identification of patients with major depressive disorder

Xinyi Liu et al.

Summary: Using resting-state functional MRI and diffusion tensor imaging, this study found that MDD patients exhibited disrupted structural rich-club organization and modularity, as well as reduced coupling between structural and functional connectivity. These results suggest that the disrupted rich-club structural organization could potentially serve as a biological marker for identifying MDD patients.

Preterm birth leads to impaired rich-club organization and fronto-paralimbic/limbic structural connectivity in newborns

Joana Sa de Almeida et al.

Summary: Prematurity disrupts brain development and network organization, leading to increased segregation and decreased integration capacity in preterm infants. Compared to full-term infants, preterm infants demonstrate delayed transition in brain network architecture and decreased connectivity strength in specific regions, potentially underlying behavioral and social cognition difficulties.
