Distribution of organochlorine pesticide pollution in water, sediment, mollusk, and fish at Saguling Dam, West Java, Indonesia

Katharina Oginawati et al.

Summary: This study investigated the distribution of organochlorine pesticides in water, sediments, mollusks, and fish at Saguling Dam, identifying the presence of various organochlorine compounds. The results showed that sediments had higher organochlorine concentrations compared to water, mollusks, and fish, with different dominant compounds found in each type of sample. The distribution of organochlorine was influenced by land use and pollutant input from tributaries in the Citarum watershed.

Vectorial Charge Transfer across Bipolar Membrane Loaded with CdS and Au Nanoparticles

Manjeet Chhetri et al.

Summary: The synthesis of CdS and Au nanoparticles in different layers of bipolar membranes allows for the preparation of photocatalytically active BPM films. This design opens up new opportunities for water splitting and CO2 reduction through vectorial electron transfer between the two layers.

Single Pass CO2 Conversion Exceeding 85% in the Electrosynthesis of Multicarbon Products via Local CO2 Regeneration

Colin P. O'Brien et al.

Summary: The CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) provides an opportunity to consume CO2 and produce desirable products, but the alkaline conditions required often lead to loss of input CO2 to bicarbonate and carbonate, limiting the conversion of CO2 to multicarbon products. This study found that cation exchange membranes (CEMs) and bipolar membranes (BPMs) were not ideal for providing locally alkaline conditions, but the development of a permeable CO2 regeneration layer (PCRL) allowed for a more efficient CO2 conversion process with limited CO2 crossover.
