Flexible pressure sensor with a tunable pressure-detecting range for various human motions

Gang Yang et al.

Summary: A novel flexible pressure sensor is proposed in this study, which can detect various human motions from low to high-pressure range by infusing magnetic carboxyl iron particle/silicone resin into carbon sponge. The sensor has a tunable and large pressure-detecting range, achieving a significant increase in the upper pressure-detecting limit at different frequencies through the magnetorheological effect, suitable for monitoring multiple low to high-pressure stimuli in human activities.

Microconformal electrode-dielectric integration for flexible ultrasensitive robotic tactile sensing

Shi Luo et al.

Summary: This study explored a flexible piezocapacitive sensor with microstructured graphene nanowalls electrodes and conformally microstructured dielectric layer, achieving ultra-high sensitivity, fast response speed, and broad pressure range. Finite element analysis revealed that the piezoelectric effect of the ZnO film significantly enhanced the sensor's capacitance, and the integration of electrode and dielectric layer improved mechanical stability. The potential applications in robotic tactile perception have been successfully demonstrated due to the outstanding comprehensive performance of the sensor.
