A chiral metal-organic cage used as the stationary phase for gas chromatography separations

Bo Tang et al.

Summary: Chiral metal-organic cages (MOCs) have been investigated as a novel stationary phase for gas chromatography (GC) due to their unique molecular recognition ability. The chiral MOC-PA exhibited high-resolution performance for a wide range of analytes, especially for amino acid derivatives, showing excellent separation repeatability and reproducibility. The experimental results suggest that MOC-PA has great potential as a GC stationary phase.

The first chiral HPLC separation of dicarba-nido-undecarborate anions and their chromatographic behavior

Ondrej Horacek et al.

Summary: The chiral separations of stable anionic boron cluster derivatives with asymmetric substitutions remain a challenge in chiral chromatography, but this study successfully achieved the first-ever HPLC enantioseparations of 7,8-dicarba-nido-undecaborates(1-) by blocking cationic sites on the stationary phase. Brominated beta-cyclodextrin showed better chiral selectivity for separation of these species, providing new insights into chiral separation of anionic boron clusters.

Facile preparation of ethanediamine-β-cyclodextrin modified capillary column for electrochromatographic enantioseparation of Dansyl amino acids

Zhentao Li et al.

Summary: A multifunctional cyclodextrin chiral stationary phase was fabricated using interfacial polymerization and demonstrated excellent chiral separation performance in capillary electrochromatography, especially for Dansyl-DL-amino acids. The prepared columns showed good reproducibility and stability, with low relative standard deviations for enantiomer retention times. This innovative chiral stationary phase has a broader application scope in the field of chiral recognition.

Comparison of Coated and Immobilized Chiral Stationary Phases Based on Amylose tris-[(S)-α-Methylbenzylcarbamate] for the HPLC Enantiomer Separation of α-Lipoic Acid and Its Reduced Form

Alessia Rosetti et al.

Summary: This research conducted enantioselective separation of ALA and DHALA by HPLC using two amylose-derived chiral stationary phases, without the need for pre- or on-column derivatization. The study is expected to provide insights into the enantioselective action differences between the enantiomers of DHALA in vivo, filling the current research gap in this area.

Click preparation of multiple-thioether bridged cyclodextrin chiral materials for efficient enantioseparation in high-performance liquid chromatography†

Ming Chen et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a highly efficient covalent immobilization procedure to prepare stable and reliable cyclodextrin chiral stationary phases with novel multiple-thioether bridging. Through controlling the surface concentration of cyclodextrin, the stationary phases showed superior enantioseparation ability in reversed-phase HPLC mode, successfully resolving over 60 chiral enantiomers.
