Highly efficient and selectivity-controllable aerobic oxidative cleavage of C-C bond over heterogeneous Fe-based catalysts

Pengfei Guo et al.

Summary: A base-free selectivity-controllable aerobic oxidative cleavage of C-C bond with Fe-based catalysts has been developed. In the presence of oxygen, 1,2-diols are selectively transformed to aldehydes, while methyl esters are orientedly produced from 1,2-diones in methanol medium.

An efficient chromium(iii)-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of methylarenes in water for the green preparation of corresponding acids

Feng Jiang et al.

Summary: A highly efficient method was developed using a reusable Cr catalyst to oxidize methylarenes to their corresponding acids, which is simple to operate, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective. Unlike the accepted oxidation mechanism of toluene, studies have shown a synergistic effect of chromium and molybdenum in the Cr catalyst.

Oxidative esterification of alcohols by a single-side organically decorated Anderson-type chrome-based catalyst

Jingjing Wang et al.

Summary: A new chromium-based catalyst stabilized by a single pentaerythritol decorated Anderson-type polyoxometalate enables the efficient conversion of alcohols to esters through H2O2 oxidation, with high yields and selectivity without extra organic ligands. The catalyst can tolerate alcohols with various functionalities, and can be recycled multiple times while maintaining its original configuration and catalytic activity. The proposed catalytic mechanism shows great potential for industrial applications.
