Development of a cyan blue-emitting Ba3La2(BO3)4:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphor for use in dental glazing materials: color tunable emission and energy transfer

Gyu Jin Jeong et al.

Summary: Ce3+/Tb3+ doped Ba3La2(BO3)(4) phosphors were synthesized by conventional solid state reaction. The optimized composition yielded a cyan-blue emission with high color purity, and the internal quantum efficiency was estimated to be 50%. A dental glazing paste prepared with organic binder, Ba3La2(BO3)(4):Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphors, and low T-g glass showed high chemical stability in acidic aqueous solution (pH = 4) and successfully vitrified at 600 and 700 degrees C.

Ba3YB3O9 based phosphor ceramic plates with excellent thermal stability for wLED applications

Weiwei Wu et al.

Summary: A series of Eu3+ and Tb3+ singly doped Ba3YB3O9 phosphors were synthesized using a solution combustion approach, which were then used to fabricate phosphor ceramic plates with more intense red and green emission than the corresponding phosphors. The emission color can be effectively tuned by adjusting the mass ratio of the red and green phosphors and the excitation wavelength, while white light emission was achieved by incorporating a blue-emitting Eu2+ doped BaMgAl10O17 phosphor into the PCPs. The synthesized phosphors and PCPs demonstrate robust thermal stability, making them promising candidates for high-power wLED applications.

Kamila Rajfur et al.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of Tb3+ ion concentration and synthesis method on persistent luminescence properties, revealing that doping level can tune the color of luminescence and persistent luminescence is primarily induced by UV excitation. Additionally, thermoluminescence measurements indicate that the depth and number of electron traps are affected by the synthesis method and dopant concentration.
