Variations of soil organic matters and plant cuticular waxes along an altitude gradient in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

Luhua Yao et al.

Summary: This study evaluated variations in soil organic matter and plant leaf cuticular waxes along an altitude gradient in two mountains on the east side of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Results showed that altitude influenced the quantity and quality of soil organic matter as well as leaf cuticular wax coverage. Notably, different altitudes had varying impacts on the molecular characteristics of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the soil, highlighting the complex relationships between altitude and environmental adaptations in alpine ecosystems.
