Effect of ionic liquids on the fluorescence properties and aggregation of superfolder green fluorescence protein

Qi Han et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of ionic liquids (ILs) on the fluorescence and aggregation behavior of superfolder green fluorescent protein (sfGFP). Results showed that sfGFP was less aggregated with nitrate-based ILs compared to in buffer, but more aggregated in mesylate-based ILs. Additionally, polyol additives in IL-water mixtures slightly decreased sfGFP aggregation propensity.
