Cross-firm return predictability and accounting quality

Summary: The study finds that stock returns of firms with good accounting quality positively predict the future stock returns of matched firms with poor accounting quality. The predictability of cross-firm stock returns is stronger in months with substantial news arrival, including months with FOMC rate announcements, than in months with no news.
