Shift-type SMEFT effects in dileptons at the LHC

Alyssa Horne et al.

Summary: The study focuses on constraints on Wilson coefficients in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory from dilepton production, incorporating theory error estimates from higher EFT orders. Constraints on four-fermion operator contributions and shifts are found to be robust, and a new constraint on shifts is derived, comparable in strength to LEP data. The study provides new constraints linearly independent from those at the LHC and rotated in Wilson coefficient space relative to LEP bounds.

The Feynman rules for the SMEFT in the background field gauge

Tyler Corbett

Summary: The presented package provides a consistent inclusion of dimension-six squared effects in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory, validated through analysis of Ward Identities and further demonstrated in this article. Failure to include field shifts to dimension-six squared consistently can lead to a breakdown in the Ward identities, raising concerns about calculations in the literature. The FeynRules files and relevant Mathematica notebooks are available for download from the FeynRules website.

EWPD in the SMEFT to dimension eight

Tyler Corbett et al.

Summary: The study calculates corrections to LEP electroweak precision data using the geometric formulation of SMEFT. Results are reported in interpolation tables allowing interpretation of data as dimension eight for the first time. Neglecting dimension-eight SMEFT corrections introduces a theoretical error in studies, with preliminary findings showing the impact on LEP observables.

One loop verification of SMEFT Ward Identities

Tyler Corbett et al.

Summary: This study verifies the Ward identities of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory up to one loop order using the background field gauge for quantization. The results presented serve as the foundation for automatically generating next to leading order results in the SMEFT, utilizing both perturbative and non-perturbative expansion in the geoSMEFT formalism and background field gauge.

Complete set of dimension-eight operators in the standard model effective field theory

Hao-Lin Li et al.

Summary: Utilizing group theoretic techniques, we have systematically and automatically provided a complete list of the dimension-eight operator basis in the standard model effective field theory, adopting a new form of operators based on the irreducible representations of the Lorentz group and identifying Lorentz structures as states in an SU(N) group. By ensuring the independence and permutation symmetries of the operators, our approach facilitates the handling of complexity arising from repeated fields. The explicit form of independent flavor-specified operators has been presented for the first time, and our algorithm can be easily applied to higher-dimensional standard model effective field theory and other effective field theories, making these studies more accessible.
